Popular Accessories for Shapeoko
A common pre-purchase question that we get is, "What else do I need to buy?" The answer is "Not much," but we've got some popular accessories that we think you'll like.
What you need to provide
We focus on selling complete machines, so you don't spend time and money getting everthing that wasn't included with the machine. Here's what you need to provide that we do not provide:
- A Windows or Mac computer (sorry, no iPads or Chromebooks) to run Carbide Motion, and Carbide Create or, any other CAD/CAM software you like. (We don't lock you into any proprietary CAD/CAM software.)
- You pick either a spindle or router, depending on your needs. Here's a comparison of the different spindles and routers.
- A shop vacuum. We include 2.5", 2.25" and 36mm adapters for our Sweepy Dust Boots.
- A table to put the machine on (or, a leg kit if you have the Shapeoko 5.1 Pro).

Crush-it Essential Clamps
A set of clamps to compliment the Essential Clamps that are already included with every Shapeoko. You can never have too many clamps, and these are the best clamps we've ever made.
Shapeoko End Mill Starter Pack
Cutters are very job-specific, but new users appreciate this starter pack as a great way to get "one of each" to get started.
Carbide 3D Jog Pendant
The Carbide 3D Jog Pendant gives you the same interface to jog your Shapeoko CNC router as the big industrial machines.
BitZero
The BitZero makes it easier to set the zero point of the material in your machine. Some people LOVE it, and refuse to use their machine without it, but it's completely optional. If you choose to buy one, we recommend that you do not use it for the first month that you own your machine, so you learn the basics first.
